Musical Concert 3rd November 2009

A musical concert by the popular singing group Encore entitled "An Evening to Remember" was held at Claremont Methodist Church in Bath. All proceeds from the evening will be donated to the Bristol Branch of the HDA. Encore is a group of 4 singers and a pianist who delight in making music together. The programme included classics by Stephen Sondheim, George Gershwin and Andrew Lloyd Webber all delivered with more than a hint of humour and a touch of audience participation.

Sponsored Walk Sunday 27th September 2009

As the sun rose over Frenchay Common on Sunday 27th September a group of walkers gathered outside the White Lion, Frenchay to take part in our annual sponsored walk. The circular walk took in Frenchay, UWE, Stoke Park and finally up the river from Snuff Mills where a refreshing drink was had by all then on to Frenchay Common and the finishing point at the White Lion where a pint and Sunday lunch was the order of the day. The estimated total of sponsorship so far is an amazing sum of £600.

Annual Meal 20th April 2009

This year the meal was once again held at the Talbot Inn in Keynsham. There were 15 of us present and it was nice to see a new face as well as the familiar ones. The food was good and the company was even better.

Barn Dance 27th March 2009

The Barn Dance took place at Bitton Recreation and Sports Club and once again it was a great success. The Free Spirit Band and the "caller", Jethro, made it easy for everyone to get up and have some fun, while only looking a bit silly! Many thanks to the band, everyone who helped arrange the event and all those who came along and made it such a great night. Watch this space for the final sum raised.
